Review policy

What a reviewer checks before a release or a store page reaches players, the reasons for a refusal, and what ends an account.

Every release and every change to a store page is reviewed by a named moderator before players see it. The reviewer plays the game for at least three minutes as an ordinary player, with a fresh identity for each review, from networks you cannot single out. Nobody reviews their own game, and you are never told who reviewed yours.

What reviewers check

  • The game plays as described, and its rating is honest.
  • No login, credential, two-factor or payment forms, including ones drawn on a canvas.
  • No instructions to run commands, paste into the system, or install software or browser extensions.
  • No loot boxes, ads, trackers, session replay or fingerprinting.
  • No free text, voice, video or content exchange between players.
  • Every capability, scope and third party has a reason to be there.
  • The privacy policy, the controller details and the data events URL work.
  • No deceptive use of trademarks or of uloggd's identity, and no unlicensed intellectual property.

Any password or two-factor prompt inside a game under review is a refusal, and a flag on the app.

Rules for minors

uloggd accounts start at 12, and games never learn a player's age, so every game is made for a possible 12-year-old, as Brazil's ECA Digital (Lei 15.211/2025) requires:

  • Never, in any version: loot boxes, and any paid random item.
  • Not allowed: behavioural or targeted ads, ad SDKs, session-replay tools and fingerprinting libraries.
  • Not in v1, until uloggd has parental controls: free text, voice, video or content exchange between players. Fixed phrases and emotes are fine.

During the preview only players aged 16 or more can play Arcade games, and each game carries a ClassInd self-rating from L to 16, enforced at launch. A higher rating takes effect as soon as you submit the store page; a lower one waits for review.

Names

Names, slugs and taglines cannot contain "uloggd" in any form, nor "oficial", "official", "verificado", "verified", "suporte", "support", "login", "admin", "moderação" or "moderator". The slug arcade and the words uloggd uses in its own addresses are reserved. "Arcade" as an ordinary word in a game's name is fine.

Refusal reasons

A refusal names one or more of these reasons, with a note from the reviewer:

ReasonMeans
credential_or_payment_formA login, credential, two-factor or payment form.
clickfix_or_installInstructions to run commands, paste into the system, or install something.
loot_box_or_paid_randomA loot box, or a paid random item.
ads_tracking_or_fingerprintingAds, trackers, session replay or fingerprinting.
user_chat_or_ugcFree text, voice, video or content exchange between players.
undeclared_third_partyThe game loads a third party the release does not declare.
rating_mismatchThe rating does not match the content.
sexual_contentSexual content.
child_safetyAnything that puts children at risk.
impersonation_or_uloggd_lookalikeIt passes itself off as uloggd, or as someone else.
unlicensed_ipSomeone else's intellectual property, without a licence.
broken_or_not_as_describedIt does not work, or is not what the store page says.
privacy_policy_or_controller_missingThe privacy policy or the controller details are missing or do not work.
scope_or_capability_unjustifiedA scope or a capability without a reason to have it.
otherExplained in the note.

Fix what the note says, then submit a new release or a new revision of the store page.

After approval

  • uloggd checks the URL every day, and after every player report (see Hosting).
  • Every live game is reviewed again at least once a quarter, some of them picked at random each week, and moderators can schedule a new review at any time. It is done by someone other than the reviewer who approved the release whenever the team has someone else. It is not announced: if it finds nothing, you hear nothing; if it suspends the game, that reaches you as a suspension, with the reason.
  • In a new review, the reviewer compares the site as it is today with what the check that approved the release saw (see What the check does).
  • Players report games from the player and from the store page. Reports about child safety, self-harm and violence are read first, and scams right after. Reports can also take a game off the air until a moderator looks (see Holds by reports).
  • A moderator can suspend a game at once: launches stop immediately, and running games close within a minute.
  • Decisions reach you as notifications and emails, which never name the reviewer.

Holds by reports

When uloggd turns on holds by reports, player reports can take a game off the air automatically while moderation looks at them. uloggd weighs each report instead of counting them: how many different people reported the game and over how long, how serious the reason is (child safety and scams weigh more), whether the person played the game, and that person's record with reports. Reports from your own account, and from recent, unverified or suspended accounts, do not count. A single child safety report from a trusted account that played the game can be enough. uloggd does not publish the figures behind these criteria, so that nobody can game them.

  • Every hold is reviewed by a person, without your asking, and only that person puts the game back: a passing check of the URL does not.
  • You are notified when the game goes off the air and when it comes back. Meanwhile you can still test it from the portal.
  • You are never told who reported the game.
  • To explain the case, or to ask for the decision to be reviewed, write to the contact on the About us page.

What ends an account

  • Cloaking: serving reviewers, or uloggd's checks, something different from what players get.
  • Switching the game's behaviour after approval.
  • Instructions to run commands, paste into the system, or install software or extensions.
  • Abuse of minors.

When an account is banned, uloggd stops accepting the hosts of its games, can stop accepting their whole registrable domain (see The domain and the network), and can review other games under that domain again.

Testing

Develop offline on the mock, then play your game inside uloggd, from your machine or from a release, before anyone reviews it.
